Welcome to my website, I am a freelance writer based in South London. I mainly concentrate on screenplays, but have recently attempted my hand at a first novel and few short stories.

My interest and love of scriptwriting began in 1999 when I placed in the Quarter Finals of the prestigious Don and Gee Nicholl Fellowship, the world's most esteemed screenwriting competition with my script The Reluctant King was an advanced entrant in the first ever BBC Talent contest as a drama writer a few years later with a spec script for the TV show Casualty.

In 2003 I was commissioned by an author to adapt his novel into a screenplay and since then I have written (if not completed) numerous other scripts. I again reached the Quarter Finals of the Nicholl Fellowships in 2009 with my script American Gentlemen.

As well as writing I also have a love and interest in politics and current world affairs. I spent four years working in the private office of the British Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. David Cameron during his period as Leader of the Opposition, dealing mainly with his correspondence and e-mails, and also assisting in some speechwriting.

I am currently working as a freelance writer, and my services are for hire if you need an experienced writer to help with that all important speech or if you have a great idea for a novel or film script and not sure how to go about writing it. Or maybe you just want your story told – whatever the reason, drop me a line and I’ll see if I can help.

Feel free to take a look around my site and portfolio of work and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’re interested in any more scripts.

Best wishes,

Ian P
